Financial Manager
NeighborWorks® of Grays Harbor works to provide safe, affordable housing for the
people of Grays Harbor County.
The Financial Manager must understand the concepts of fund accounting and cost accounting principles for non-profit organizations. He/she must be aware of the financial needs, problems, and resources of NWGH. The incumbent works closely with the Business and Finance Committee and the Executive Director.
Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting, or its equivalent in
academic preparation or experience. He/she must possess computer skills and can demonstrate experience in a wide range of computer applications and computerized accounting programs. High proficiency in Excel is necessary. The person in this position must have the knowledge required for the management of resources, equipment, staff and schedules of the organization and be able to manage all financial operations with a knowledge of the organization’s long and short range goals.
A few of the principal responsibilities are as follows:

Administer the fund accounting for twenty-one (21) funds, cost accounting, and budgets by lines of business to ensure that the organization’s goals and objectives are met.

Maintain true, correct, and complete books of account, maintained in accordance with
generally accepted accounting principles, consistently applied, in which shall be entered fully and accurately each and every transaction of the organization.

Submit to the Business and Finance Committee unaudited financial statements of the
organization, including a Statement of Financial Position; Statement of Revenue and
expenditures; Statement of Cash Flows; and Budget Variance Report.

Maintain and upgrade a comprehensive computerized accounting system.

Determine allowable and allocable costs in accordance with the provisions of OMB Circular A-122, Cost Principal for Non-Profit Organizations.

Generate an annual organizational budget and projected income for all programs and funds. The annual organizational budget totals approximately $1,000,000.

Administer grant revenue and expenditures. Monitor each grant to ensure that budget
standards are met. Voucher grantor as specified in each contract.

Cause to be prepared all tax and information returns required of the non-profit organization (including, but not limited to, federal, state, and local income tax and information returns, and any amended returns), which returns shall be reviewed in advance by the accounting firm.
